  1. They compare because like the racism against afro-latinos is almost the same that was shown in ecuador.

For example, most of the "cachacos" hate costeños so much and we have not done anything bad to them. Its just like they reject us because we are not as "cold" as they are.

I think that in the coast we are really open to other cultures and we don't reject people just because we want and I think costeños should be recognized thanks to their joy or skin color than rejected.

  2. We can compare racism against afro-latinos and racism against afro-colombians, especially the racism against costeños, for example "cachacos" being racists towards costeños just for the fact that they think costeños are "corronchos" or not as cool as they think they are, or the fact that costeños talk different, or the way costeños dress and things like that.

In conclusion, these are superficial things that do not help our community, we should be as united as possible because there are a lot of social problems, especially in the last 30 years, and this type of racism is something we can evade.

  3. Racism is a social problem which involves a big percentage of Colombian population. It's difficult live in a country that not respect your rights and it is difficult try to improve in several areas of your life with discrimination. In Colombia, discrimination practices are illegal, however in several places like night clubs or restaurant keep behaviours like right of admission, and do not let you access to that service because your skin color or your appearance. It sad find this kind of habits in Colombia and countries like Dominican Republic, Ecuador and Brazil. If you investigate about the history of these countries, you could appreciate that all have ancestry Afro. People who practice racism have made an excellent job, you can see often the results for example, in expressions like my title, you link dark or the black color with something bad, instead white color that often you relate with peace. We have a big responsibility, we should change these kind of thinking and making of our community improve about racism!

  4. When we speak of racist we refers a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human racial groups determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to dominate others or that a particular racial group is inferior to the others.
As with everything else in Colombia, our racism is also a problem of elitism. Why? because this country is full of corruption and because of that its difficult to express an a idea or a constructive opinion.

  6. Wencan see racism on all countries because people have the idea that one race needs to dominate the others, so even if we said that we are all equals, the truth is that racism against afrocolombians is visible now a days. And yoo can also this race domination between cachos and costeños that most of them believe that they are better than costeños.

Today we can see racism against costeños because cachacos consider themselves as great people and they are better than costeños. They are based on our behavior because costeños are more friendly with other people, sometimes we enjoy for a while in our jobs but we are responsibles with our activities. Many times, we can see that cachacos discriminate to costeños because of our color skin and our way to express our opinion.

  8. When we talk about racism against Afro-Latinos, we can notice that the situation and problems that they are having is not so far away from the stigma and concept that the people form Bogotá have crate a bad meaning about us and are always against as with a bad reference without really knowing how costeños are. It´s like the same phrase that all oft them has for us, like if someone put them all together and said them exactly what they have to tell about, but I think that they don´t know us and maybe the reference is only in based of an specific or small group of costeños that they saw and for them we are all equal.

  11. There are very few things to compare between Afro-Latinos racism and Afro-Colombians racism, in the special case of the "Costeños" the problem is present in our own country and in our own city. The "costeños" are judged as bad workers, lazy among other features. Features that stand out more in black people. In my point of view, the stereotypes and power struggle are the nest of this problem.
